Hi Guy's I am finished my December daily 2015 Album, and although it's now February ... it feels so good to have waited, to take a slower approach, and to really enjoy these days as they were gathering all the stories and then making this album. I also welcomed this approach after two days of documenting and sharing here, I stoped on day 3 as I had a change of heart with my album size ... out of no where.
Go with the flow, I didn't want to "forget" this project as it sat on my work table but I didn't want to put day to day on the back burner either, I wanted to be present, as these days came and to be honest my working on this book long after December was surprisingly very enjoyable. Remembering your stories either as they are in present or later on as long as they are told. Here is our story of December 2015 ...
Opening page here I used a large wood veneer about 3 x 3.5 in size from Michaels craft store during their holiday ornaments display. I Adhered it to the transparent pattern page from one of my Beautiful mess kits (cut down from larger size). I love how this starts the album off with a great reminder.
Here is the next page I took that "cheers" clear embelishment and adhered it to another clear circle transparent page & adding in another round photo at the bottom.
Here is what it looks like on the flip side.
I wanted to add in some thoughts before starting off this book, I added an AE "stories matter to me because" brush at the top page then typed out my December thoughts. Wood veneer added.
December 1st | Here we go day one of this month and today was spent with coffee (like all good days do) & putting up the kiddos trees in their rooms. I took a Instax photo of Ava's tree in her room and paper clipped it to the 3x4 card.
Here you can see the other side of that 3x4 on the left showing the date, on the right is a 4x6 of Ava's tree in her room. Adding in tag and AE stamp on side, stapled with tiny attacher.
On the other side of Ava's tree photo is the 4x6 of our Advent Santa and a 3x4 photo of Ava's drawing of Santa. She made this drawing I scanned it into my computer and in PS made it into 3x4 printed on photo paper.
On the other side of Ava's drawing I adhered this calendar from the DD kit. adding a wood veneer tree. Then I added in another 4x6 transparent circle paper with this tag (I found this designer on pinterest will look up the link). Added the baker's twine black and white and tiny attacher staple.
This page leads us into Day Two.
On the flip side of that tag page I added another tag on the back .
December 2nd | I used the 3x4 number card and punched holes in the cards stitching it to another 3x4 card first. AE stamp tag on the side.
On the flip side of the 3x4 card I adhered Ethan's photo from the shoot I did with the kiddos for our family cards, They were good sports about it. Adhered with my tape runner found here & again punched the holes right in the photo. In between these photo's I put another transparent page with wood veneer tree ( spoiler - you will see a lot of these ).
LOVING all the LAYERS that this album is building.
Clear divider.
Same thing here for Ava taking her 3x4 photo and punching holes right through the photo paper. Tag on the side.
On the flip side of Ava's photo I wanted to add in some space for journaling - the story of today. To the right is a 4x6 of how my custom cards turned out made with AE brushes in PS and ran through my printer at home.
So far that wraps up December 1 & 2. I will be sharing more tomorrow. thanks for reading! For more info on December Daily you can check out Ali Edwards (AE) here.
Cheers!
