In the Garden | Right now.

August aleady ... seriously? SO this is where we are with the garden ... it's August, it's hot, it's overgrown, it's beautiful, and I still love it! This year we planted : Carrots, peas, cucumber, pumkin, and three different types of tomatoes. Here is a little progress of what it all looks like now.

It has been another great growing year here and with all the rain this year that has helped with the watering and money I saved not watering (yay)! I love that we can pull out what ever vegetable needed and eat or cook with it, I have to be a little more careful due to allergies but still I do it because it provides for our family and because it's GOOD and clean!

Hope you are having a great summer! Thanks for checking in!!

Harrison Garden Progress.

IMG_0816

Let's talk Garden talk for a bit here. Updates are looking great so far and that's thanks to all the rain we have been recently having, The down fall to that is the mosquitoes that then populate - not so great! But so far in this years journey of urban gardening I am in love again with this planting + caring for + observing process!

There is something about dirt + a plant waiting to become something more than a plant, it's food. Belle Peppers in and looking strong!

On those Crazy, hectic & stupid things happening kinda days (because there are days like those) I can be in the garden and piss that all away just playing in my garden. Of course it's not only used as a zen place for me I love to be in there when days are "normal" too. it just helps. I love our little garden escape.

Inspired by Summer.

IMG_9103

It's not yet officially "Summer" not until the 21st of this month but come on as of June 1st we consider that swimsuit & garden sprinkler season. I am so inspired by summer already and know what lies ahead waiting for us and after a long freezing winter I am so ready!

Above photo is a Project Life divider (found here) that I wanted to experiment with and if you have been following me then you know I love to hand paint mine in some pattern, This time I went with the Alpha stickers (found here) and then painted over them. I did this to some of my journal cards & fell in love with that so here I attempted to do so on the clear acetate. It was cool timing that my husband was in the garden during this shot to symbolize "summer".

Turned out pretty darn good I think, might try to peel them off to open the letters to show through the background ... not sure yet.

On my desk right now... Right hand side of week 21 using the size F page pockets & sewn up the top left pocket to make into 3x4. Tons of journaling this week. Midnight edition and studio calico kit used.

You can tell by that hair do & no shoes she is supporting that it's "summer" around here & I couldn't be happier to see her wanting to help out with the plants and garden. Don't let that serious business face fool you she is all giggles once she is charge of the watering hose. Also side note I am loving the light and this light was about 8:30 pm ... another wonderful thing about summer!

So fun and it's only started, three weeks of school left then a BIG kick off to summer will happen at the end of this month. Right now we enjoy watering and sunsets EVERY NIGHT so so love that.

The view from my kitchen window on my iphone and no filter, nature is beyond magical!

The view from my chair on the back deck, iphone and no filter. Yes to summer skies and sunset magic.

Cheers to being inspired by Summer.
