Project Life | Week 10.

IMG_8778

Somewhere I skipped over week nine and ten here ... so let's go back a little &  week 10 of Project Life is where I will start. It's truly hard to imagine that nearly 14 weeks have gone past. I still feel like I'm just getting into the 2015 rhythm ... comfy into it but still.

IMG_8877

This week - March 02- March 8th, I might think back to this as my creative projects taking over my free time week. This week we also set the clocks forward for Spring and I loved welcoming more day light!

IMG_8784

This week - I used a mix of studio calico kits and sunshine edition kits from Becky Higgins and of course some Ali Edwards digital brushes that I made into 3x4 cards.

IMG_8849

IMG_8815

Full page view here keeping with the rest of the album I am stuck on 9x12 and both sides this week are all 3x4 slots which is actually a favorite of mine.

IMG_8860

Left side of the spread & close up of the AE brush "yes" I made into 3x4 card. I can't help but laugh at the yarn photo - I am full on knitting and have been for a few weeks now, yarn was something I never really paid much attention to at the craft stores until now I can't seem to leave the store without a new skein of it. YES to this month being a creative PURPOSE and to me taking the plunge.

Thanks so much for reading - I know that there is a ton of Project Life inspiration out there, hope I inspired you to either keep going or to get started.

Supplies used :  Studio Calico kit, tiny attacher, Martha Stewart glue pen,Becky Higgins date stamp, Sharpie marker pen, Avery labels Ali Edwards Digital brushes  Sunshine edition kit, , wood veneers, sewing machine to sew up the page pockets.

Project Life | Week 7.

IMG_5903

Another week here and gone, After 5 years of Project Life I love that this is still my most loved craft ... making our everyday life visible. I know how easy it is to NOT take photo's and not pay attention to the little things because I know what it's like to be a busy family, I also know that for me there is no other way of life. Photo's will always be a part of it and so will the stories I document. HOORAY for that! Here we go week 7 Project Life ...

IMG_5744

This week I am in full steam ahead ... in love with my custom 9x12 size, Still. Almost want to ask myself why I didn't switch sooner but hey just keep moving on. This week I used Ali Edwards "Today" digital brush stamp on that photo above and as simple as this is I LOVE it! Find it here.

IMG_5761

This week we went to a Newly Opened Museum & we all had a great time taking in all the stories and sights there I personally loved all the design and architecture of the building I am a sucker for open space large ceilings and light! We took a quick family shot with my iphone and timercam app 1 out of 4 of us are looking and that's ok second family photo of 2015 so I will take it!

IMG_5751

This week it was snowy and while I had the heat on in the van waiting for the kids in the school pick up line it made this beautiful pattern on my window. I am also a sucker for patterns and water drops.

IMG_5909

This week was usual work week & kids activities instead of a photo this week I jotted a little note about it in that 3x4 Cirque card from Studio Calico above, Skate, swim, hockey skills. they are almost at a wrap up session and then into "spring"  session. I love all the GOOD that they have both been doing and I can see their strong spots and places that still challenge them, but I also see determination in both of them - That ROCKS!

IMG_5733

Oh YES it maybe winter in my neck of the woods but I gotta love my plants that bring me green love! I am drawing garden plans in my planner and man I can not wait.

IMG_5735

Another Studio Calico card from the "Cirque" kit on the right hand side and I highlighted "today's adventure" with a yellow sharpie highlighter mainly because I thought that should stand out. Also I added a stamp pattern on the top with this weeks dates.

This week Feb.9 - Feb.15th we were here. Making the everyday stuff happen and Loving it. We had a wonderful Valentines weekend with a homemade heart shaped pizza that Ava helped make & it turned out pretty darn good! We are not big on Valentines it's more for the whole family kinda thing, but still it was fun with the kids.

This weeks photo ratio iphone 4S to Canon 5D was 5 iphone photo's & 3 Canon 5D total of 8 photo's in this spread.

* Project Life is a memory keeping system & If you are wanting more info on Project Life please check out Becky Higgins site here.

Project Life | Week Two.

IMG_2688

Hello week two & there are two things I already LOVE about this year of Documenting 1. I love 9x12 and the change was something I wanted to take on a while ago and thought the New Year is a great start for that. I am not missing the few pockets that I cut off & it hasn't really changed my process at all.

2. I love that it does allow me to become more flexible with what pocket I need for each week, if I want more 3x4 then I just create more of them but if I want a few 4x6 pockets then I stick with that and don't sew them up.

I use mostly design A and then sew up the top and bottom 4x6 pocket then cut along the edge to get the 9x12 size ... I know that Studio Calico has some great design pages coming as they annouced over CHA week. Might buy a few but I also like that I create my own pages to fit what I need to document.

IMG_2669

Using a cut out number from mt stendig calendar again & date stamped the week with Becky Higgins date stamp. So far I am liking how each week is being present in the spreads. To the left a little journaling on Seafoam edition card.

IMG_2720

Over the course of the year, you can still bet on seeing a ton of wood veneers on my spreads ... as long as I have them I am using them up. Usually I will use Martha Stewart glue pen to adhere the veneer but this time I used my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher stapler for different texture. I will continue to use both.

IMG_2636

I am VERY much grateful to be working this year on Ali Edwards Creative Team, I made one of her recent brushes into a 3x4 card once again ... "make it happen" is hers and you can find it here. LOVE that set!

IMG_2632

Photo above is another awesome Studio Calico card & I added in a repeated date stamp on the top portion and then added on the "move forward" wood veneer again with tiny attacher.

IMG_2726

IMG_2630

IMG_2724

IMG_2716

This week we decided that it would be a great time to make a little one on one time with the kids and parents. I took Ethan to see The Hobbit 3 and Tyler took Ava out for mini golf and Ikea hotdogs (they went with friends). I think that this was very much needed and it really made me aware of time - we are always around with each other here and there but it's so important to get seperate time with one another then regroup all together.

IMG_2705

IMG_2657

Swim night is back and the kids are loving being back in the water after the Christmas + New Years break. I am seeing big strides already and love how excited Ava gets in the change room with the responsiblities of picking the locker & then pinning her key on her suit ( I help her with the pinning part ).

IMG_2638

That wraps up week two. Above is the full view here ... I made three 4x6 spots and twelve 3x4 spots it's fun playing around with pockets & what will go where. Today I also made my monthly dividers and will post that later this week. Hint yes they are painted ... lol.

Please leave any questions you may have & I will answer as fast as I can ... If you are wanting more info on Project Life system please check out Becky Higgins site here. All other links are above & if you are wanting info on printing, paper, supplies used There is a post coming up for that shortly too. Thanks for reading - Happy Saturday Everyone!

Project Life | Week 42

Hey guy's I am so in disbelief that it's already November and that I am sharing week 42 with you all today (which is Oct 13-19th) and YES I am "behind" as well. I know how hard it can be sometimes and that there is only so many hours in a day/week/month - we all get there.

IMG_6933

Here is the right side page of the week 42, October is that month that has so much change on it's own with weather and the garden + trees I find it so so beautiful and at times breathtaking. We kept things pretty simple here and as usual handled the crazy schedules of daily work and kids activities ... man the weeks are sailing away.

IMG_6953

Of course there is always time in the kitchen and this is my little helper (making pizza dough) with mama and I can see that she will always be my little helper here & as for the boy's ... well that's not gonna happen.

IMG_6941

Love that quote I had received in an email fro "The universe"  sometimes that thing is so bang on it's scary and much appreciated all at the same time.

IMG_6935

Left side and I used an Ali Edwards brush this week from her new collection on her site called story bubbles So fun to use!

IMG_6951

No week is complete with out the coffee shot! love how these always pop up!

IMG_6972

We were surprised to see that we still had a few tomatoes hanging on in the garden.

IMG_6929

Another awesome thing from the garden this week was the three pumpkins that we planted back in May and watched for and hoped that they would take off as the ones from last year didn't do that great. Ava was so so excited to finally hold one & it was just her size!

Another week down & I am doing my own catch up in the next few days ... If you had not yet signed up for the Big Picture Classes you still have time the registration has been extended until November 19th !!!

For more info on Project life check out Becky Higgins site.

Cheers.
