For the love of fabric.

IMG_2635

Around here I am doing a little re-organizing of the fabric I have on hand. Right now it's getting really hard not to make things all day long - there needs to be more hours in the day!

IMG_2637

IMG_2641

My love for Fabric is increasing, I am totally over the moon for the Ikea bundle cuts right now! they measure 9in x 9in and I have made a few things with them already & totally love the patterns.

IMG_2652

It is very easy for me to Love fabric coming from a scrapbooking point of view it's like paper!

IMG_2662

I can't wait to jump in this whole basket & play! For the love of fabric!

Knitting, knitting, knitting.

IMG_2329

I knew that one of my top listed "to try" project's in knitting would be to make Ava a blanket. I knew that when I started that she would help pick out her colours with what was in Mama's baskets. I picked up the Grey + blue to compliment her hot pink + mustard.

At first sight I thought good lord this is a mix mash of colours but I guess we are experimenting so onwards I went, using size 15 round needle but not knitting in the round - for about two months I had no idea how not knit in the round but with a few youtube vids I was ready and knitting, Basically the same start but always keep your work on the left.

IMG_2315

As the blanket is coming together I find that I adore the colours all mixed in. It's not too girly and hopefully she can keep this until she goes to college - or longer it it's still in one piece.

IMG_2318

I actually mastered the working of four colours all at once NEVER thought that would happen! It's a little tricky but flows nicely. No special pattern here just a simple stitch.

IMG_2332

IMG_2339

IMG_2346

IMG_2368

I am super excited with the blanket so far & she is too whenever she see's me working on it & Tyler even gave me a "oh wow, look at you go" -  cool I have a cheering squad.

Other top projects still to attempt on the knitting list ... large blanket for the living room, a few more cowls for Christmas gifts, and scarfs for now.

Thanks for reading!

For the love of Green.

IMG_3629

For the love of Green plants around our house (we woke up to snow yesterday morning) and after seen all the winter snow melt it was very unhappy news around here to see it back again so for now these plants are keeping me happy until Spring actually does arrive.

IMG_3655

IMG_3750

I have been loving the light around the house + the different sparks of it as it hits the plants as the sun moves direction around the house, Our dog seems to also follow the light around and places himself in it where ever he can find it. For the love if Green - Always a Win!

Project life | week four

IMG_2957

Hey, Week four of my Project Life and above a full two page view of the week. I LOVE this project! Obviously.

IMG_2958

Full right side view.

IMG_2963

Close up of right side & that "Thankful for this day" circle is from Ali Edwards digital brush set found here.

IMG_3041

This week I took Ava the the local Art store & we both spent hours there lost in paint colours and brushes. She is taking after her Mama so much!

IMG_2975

This Week the temps were NUTS for local Winnipeg weather, Minus three in January NEVER happens and we hit a record.

IMG_2977

This week Ava was sick with the stomach flu & that sucked we were up all night with her and even though we were all tired more like exhausted we had to power through and I tried so hard to just keep anything in her stomach between episodes. By 5pm the next day she was out of the woods and able to keep down solids again ... that was only Monday.

Project Life | Week three

IMG_2911

Hey, sharing week three here of my Project Life 2015. Right now I am loving my plan of 9x12 I promise I won't keep repeating this but just wanted to share that if you are thinking about trying 9x12 go for it!

IMG_2864

This week : Was Nuts ... it was real life bonkers, But I know that getting through weeks like these are a part of life and that it doesn't last forever even though it feels like it. Moving on, moving forward. Of course there was also good during this week and I really am the type of person that prefers to see the good, always!

IMG_2888

First full 9x12 of the year and this was a true fave in 2013 & 2014 going full 12x12 When thinking about changing to this new size I thought I might miss the BIG photo ... but really the 9x12 worked out just fine. Photo on the left shows the full size and I added in the "life is crazy" card (because it really was) from the Sunshine edition.

IMG_2856

What else is different this year so far, I am loving using more 3x4 photo's (aside from the full photo) this year and not as many 4x6 so far again liking that.

IMG_2950

IMG_2867

IMG_2874

IMG_2948

This week we all made a family trip to the mall to have some lunch + Ice cream + picking up some earrings for Ava (clip on) she is totally into the earrings but NOT yet ready to get them pierced ... yet. So we get the clip on ones at "claires" This day totally upped the good Vs. crazy. Ice Cream is always good.

Thanks so much for following along here I am so happy that I am continuing this project. It is a true love and this being my fifth year, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 I can't imagine not ever documenting our lives this way.

Around here.

IMG_2757

Around Here - I am hanging in my office space A LOT more these past few weeks and LOVE it, all day is a dream but still break it up with school drop offs and pick ups ... cleaning & eating (forget to do that some times once I get going in here). I am loving the creative thoughts that happen in here although not always flowing I still get blocked & that's when I walk away, Listen to music, watch netflix, put it down for a day or two and come back.

IMG_2848

Around Here - Drop boxing, Pinterest browsing, Listening to Songza always current fave is "cool new music : Winter 2015"  it sit's in the background of my time in here and in a way inspires my thoughts and I totally get lost then come back again (coffee breaks & day dreaming).

IMG_2760

Around Here - Current doorway view walking into my space and needing to get at filling that bookshelf but items are finding their way on there slowly. Rug from Winners. I think that it won't stay there & instead a larger rug will replace it. Working on a placement in this space, I like all my furniture and everything is functional here but I am the type of person that needs to move the furniture AROUND every now and then ... it's now.

IMG_2824

Around Here - On my desk, Brushes recently purchased at local ART store and on sale for $1.80 + $1.29 HA total score and almost bought them all! iphone, Pens, markers, scissors, journal, studio calico cards, speedball fabric paint, my ring.

IMG_2803

Around Here - Fave corner of this space and needing to add more art to that wall.

IMG_8016

Around Here - on my work table, Ali Edwards digital brushes I make into 3x4 for PL weeks and I LOVE this one so so much you can find it here. Also on my work table Coffee *always.

IMG_2788

Around Here - found a "home" for my old stendig calendar set, I won't throw these out but not sure yet what else I will do with them (other than in my PL) - right now I like them as they are.

IMG_2769

Around Here - loving my plants although I am not the best keeper of them they still put up with me and are doing ok & this month I threw out one and bought four. It's only January and I am dying to plan out the garden ... ugh.

Thanks so much for reading my AROUND HERE! cheers.

Twenty-fifteen, man that's awesome!

IMG_1841

Happiest New Years to you & yours from ours, Last night was awesome + loved hanging downtown with the kids at The Forks. Yes we froze our fingers and toes to enjoy the AMAZING fireworks display that was BOTH the kids favorites and that was the longest they went without someone yelling or fighting with the other one ... just pure silence and the BANG from the firworks above our heads, It was awesome!

We skated, we stood by the firepits and drank (hot chocolate). We played on the toboggan hills, We laughed, fell, melteddown (Ava), moved on and laughed at ourselves some more ... We snuggled in the snow hill to watch the POP of colours as the explosions happened and CHEERED with the crowd to welcome a NEW YEAR.

IMG_1786

So Welcome a new year to start whatever we want, I very ritually grabbed my new journal and morning coffee and wrote :

 01:01:15 | THURSDAY.

Hello twenty-fifteen that number is so Awesome & there is something about it I LOVE ... hopefully I'm right in thinking that this year is going to be so good and by that I mean us growing together. There will be ages celebrated as we turn 38, 36, 11, and 6 in this house. I am fully determined to dive into this year and swim in it.

I felt like last year I never TRUELY enjoyed last year ... I loved the year and the ongoing's but never felt IN it. Not being into each task and found myself always floating away into something else. STAY and remember YOU have time to do it all! Just don't jump around like a crazy lady & finish that other task first (going back to kindergarten basics here).

2015 - I want ... TRAVEL + CONCERTS + MORE + LAUGHTER + STAR GAZING + ALWAYS MORE PHOTO'S  I hope that we keep changing and GO where our hearts take us and that we each find PURPOSE in our PASSIONS so let's go 2015!

IMG_1684

This week I will get back at sharing my Project Life and thoughts (more thoughts) on my goal in this new year ... changing a few things this year and can't wait to share!

HAPPY NEW YEARS !! CHEERS!!

One little Word 2015 | PURPOSE.

Tharrison

Helllo One little word of mine for 2015 ... PURPOSE. First what is One little word? You can read more about this year long journey of choosing a word with Ali Edwards on her site here. Ali has created this journey for all of us to be able to see what a simple word can do for you in a year. Really awesome thought!

I first tried OLW in 2011, it amazed me how I could look at that one word and be so connected with it. I let this project go last few years and really noticed that I wasn't as focused or drawn to any one word ... until a few weeks ago it was good to get connected again.

"PURPOSE" hit me & stuck to me and I played with it and jotted down what it means and was surprised that I was so so into this word and the meaning for me. So I started jotting down more, and more, and more about this word. Here is a page out of my journal I wrote this morning over coffee.

OLW_PURPOSE

You can read above the way I played with my word and how it will be welcomed and used in my life, I felt like this last year just flew past us and almost in a way were I never totally connected to all the things I love and do ... like my feet never hit the ground and I was always spinning onto the next thing at hand.

It was hard for me even to express this to myself never mind my family, with such a great year being on Creative teams and teaching at BPC and doing everything I LOVED it still felt like I was only half ass doing things and that I was not doing the full PURPOSE of these things.

This opens a whole can of worms here last year I know was BUSY I liked it but then felt like I was running on Empty at times. I said way to many "just one minute" to my kids. I didn't like how that felt & thought that being a working mom I needed to organize our lives a little better - it worked, I wasn't feeling as run down and we had a system that helped out so much better!

Then over the summer I read Brigid Schulte's book - Overwhelmed: Work, Love, And Play When No One Has The Time . The timming of this read could not have been better and so much made sense to me, VERY good read! This kept me moving forward.

So with finding this OLW of mine I am full on going to hear see and feel with PURPOSE. The list I made in my journal started a whole different list ( will share another post) about what each then prompt I gave myself to go with ... like

"Parent with Purpose" to us parents in this family of ours, that means to SEE + HEAR +FEEL more (as a team) on each of our kids levels, they are five and ten and think way different then we do and react way different then we do and I am hoping that by having more purpose + intentions of giving them MORE of us it will show us all something NEW *This is just a hope but a better approach for us all.

Each prompt I gave myself I will write a little more of each one later on & stick that into my album ... IF you are interested in taking on another project or different project then head over to Ali's site and sign up Registration is $26.00 until December 31st.

Thanks for reading, What is your word for 2015?

Project Life |Week 48

IMG_9958

IMG_9995

Continuing the wrap up of 2014 Here & a little peek at my PL | Week 48 and what life looks like during this week. Midnight edition + Seafoam edition used. I feel when there is so much overlap in projects I just want to get it all done - But then I wait and remember ... Slowing down to Really tell our stories. These last few weeks along with December Daily + prep of 2015 album + joining in One little word again this year (reveal my word today - later post).

IMG_9967

IMG_9993

This week Ethan & I had eye exams and even though the experience with the reception was less than awesome ... the overall appointments were great for both of us, only a slight change in my perscription (thank goodness, I am already -5) and no change for Ethan at all ( also thank goodness he has his great vision).

IMG_9981

IMG_9991

This page at the top right pocket I used an Ali Edwards, "beautiful fantastic imperfect" stamp set in digital format.

IMG_9958

Again I added in a few wood veneers to the pages and that "hello sunshine" is a Studio Calico piece from a past kit. That wraps up another week. Love all the journaling I got into this spread as the journaling part is not always big part of my spreads - sometimes I just want the photo's to be the story ... but I am working on bringing in more words.

Thanks for reading and your support in 2014!! Looking forward to 2015 + the plans I have. Have a great Sunday!

Project Life | Week 49

IMG_0030

As we close up this wonderful time of the year and say goodbye to 2014 & welcome 2015 there is a large percentage that I have projects overlapping and that means more photo's to print yes, but also more stories to tell.

Above is my Project Life spread for week 49 and the big difference her in this week was that I hand written over the transparent divider ( normally painted ) and this was super fun to do as I wanted to add in more words to this particular spread.

IMG_0034

Close up view of the cards this week I used some of Liz Tamanaha's december faves & paired that with the Midnight edition (still a strong fave kit of mine).

IMG_0023

IMG_0016

IMG_0027

It was also super fun to include some December Daily stamps from 2013 kit "CHEERS" was one of them & I love that this week was the traditional get the family christmas tree week.

IMG_0036

IMG_0039

IMG_0041

IMG_0060

On the Favorite things card I added in more date stamping, love doing that + love the look of it when it's done. Also you can see that transparent divider a little better here too.

IMG_0073

LOVE this magical time of year!

As the days of celebration are winding down & we all settle in with our new toys and head back into routines I am happy to be closing up this year and jumping into a new one ... Totally ready to start another year of DOCUMENTING and sharing our little story - because it matters. There might be a time when I don't document with Project Life but Very unlikely.

MERRY EVERYTHING!
